SRI AMAN: Preparations are underway as Sri Aman gets set to host the prestigious Twins Championship 103 (TC103) on 15 November, marking a significant step forward for combat sports growth in the central region of Sarawak. Resident of Sri Aman Division, Mahra Salleh, said the coordination meeting held on Wednesday focused on ensuring smooth arrangements and encouraging stronger community involvement ahead of the upcoming tournament. He said the championship, which will feature professional boxers from across the country and the Borneo region, is expected to draw visitors to Sri Aman while contributing to sports tourism and local economic activity. “Every championship we organise creates social and economic value. It opens opportunities for small entrepreneurs and strengthens a healthy, competitive community spirit,” he said after chairing the coordination session at the Sri Aman Resident Office. Mahra encouraged enthusiastic support from boxing fans and residents of surrounding districts, stating that the event’s success would set the benchmark for future sporting calendars in the division. He added that TC103 will serve as the starting point for more structured events in the coming years, driven by increased interest from local stakeholders and regional organisations. The championship is scheduled to take place on 15 November 2025 in Sri Aman. -UKASnews |
