KUCHING: Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) projects have been proposed to be included in the development planning of the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED). Ministry Permanent Secretary Dzulkornain Masron said this includes the placement of local entrepreneurs to strengthen small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as assessing new economic opportunities with potential to be explored in Sri Aman. He emphasised the importance of aligning entrepreneurial development directions with the state government’s policies, while actively involving the local community. “Strategic cooperation between the ministry, government agencies, local authorities, and the entrepreneurial community is the key to opening up more entrepreneurial opportunities. “We want to see more entrepreneurs from Sri Aman becoming competitive, able to penetrate wider markets, and ultimately contribute directly to the state’s economic growth,” he said. He said this while chairing a strategic discussion session at Wisma Sumber Alam on Tuesday. Meanwhile, SADA chairperson Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim stressed that the development of local entrepreneurs requires comprehensive support to prepare them for current challenges. She said that entrepreneurs in Sri Aman need to be empowered not only with capital and facilities, but also with knowledge, business networks, and market support. |
